Why Children Spend Time Online

New research into why children spend time online has found that young people are drawn to video services such as Netflix and YouTube with nearly half of ‘tweens’ aged 8-11 and older children aged 12-15 (49%) who prefer watching content on YouTube.

Seven in ten older children (71%) are allowed to take their mobile phone to bed and two thirds of them believe they have ‘a good balance between screen time and doing other things’.
